School Supply Box For Kids Questions
Seniors, remember getting ready for a new school year?
What a treat! Brand new #2 pencils and erasers. I always envied the kids that got new crayolas that had the sharpener made into the box. I never had one of those. I remember in 4th grade when we were first allowed to use ball point pens for our work. Remember oil cloths to cover and protect our desk tops, and a new jar of paste for art class? We had to buy a large black crayon in 1st grade to do our spelling with. In Kindergarten, we brought a rug for nap time. Times were simpler of course, and it didn’t take much to make me happy with new school supplies, how about you? What memories do you have of a new school year?
My mom got out the Sears catalog, we all got a new pair of shoes(went barefoot all summer)rubber boots, new underwear and socks. The oldest boy got new jeans, the oldest girl(me)got two skirts, three blouses and a new sweater, my sister got a new raincoat, my little bro. got new mittens and wool hat.
